Ninety and nine walked on without me
and I stayed behind
I thought they'd never see
all the pain I felt inside myself
from choices I had made
and I wandered off to barren fields that my Shepard forbade
And my heart tried to find the way
but my foolish pride kept me away
so I held inside the things I had to hide
and promises I could not keep
When did I become this wandering one; the lost sheep?
Ninety and nine were left all alone
and my shepard came to bring me home
so many nights I had prayed and cried
for someone to understand
When suddenly above me
was my shepard's hand
and my Savior's arms
calling me home.
