Through an electric-tinted view of the American Dream 

On that golden road called manifest destiny 

The heat from off that highway's always mesmerized me 

When I saw that smolder roll in like a living thing

Now an omen in the air that seems a part of me 

A rising climbing from my shoulders always whispering 

Those visions of foreboding of things soon to be

And oh, how they love to burn that sweet incense

Don't forget to bring that money you'll need to free your kids

Another scheme convincing folks to conquer far and wide

Got a global army of the most ambitious minds 

From temple, church and mosque to each and every holy shrine 

A sea of empty process, all faith ritualized 

Like science and pop culture, it's been made to please my eye 

There's a globe of you with dreams that look a lot like mine 

To be above it all, to be the Most High 

Have the might to move the masses with a wink and a sigh 

Create your own custom-made paradise
